SAFI started business with a skeleton staff of 22, involved in sea-freight and inland-trucking services. In 1993, we were recognized as a FIATA associate-member and our staff has increased to cope with the fast development of our business. In 1995, Ha Noi branch was officially licensed to operate. When sea-freight increased, SAFI, in 1998, decided to open a further branch office in Hai Phong port to meet the demand of sea-freight customers.

With knowledge of sea-freight, we very quickly developed our sea-freight services in a few years time and gained reputation in this market as well as worldwide destinations with the assistance of our valuable partner network.

It is quite convenient for services to all Ho Chi Minh City ports along Sai Gon river that our head-office is located right next to the port. We handle about 10,000 teus and 2,200 LCL shipments each year. Teus exported & imported through Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong ports. A major part of commodities are shoes and garments being exported to European main ports.

Hai Phong Branch was opened to reduce the ever-increasing burden on our customers services staff in the Ha Noi office and, together with Ha Noi office, expands sea freight services to meet the increasing demand of customers in the Northern part of Viet Nam.

Middle part of Viet Nam is becoming more important by acting as gateway not only for export cargo form middle-part-of-vietnam provinces but also for transit cargo from our neighbour country - Laos. SAFI makes the most of the service-offer possibility by its Da Nang Branch office.

To create more options for our clients during peak cargo season and so they do not need to spend greater amounts on airfreight and suffer from long time of transportation by seafreight, our Sea Freight Department offers sea-air service via UAE and Singapore to ensure traders’ cargo arrives on time and at reasonable cost.

For future development, we are aiming at the North-American market, which we believe will see an unexpected boom and represents an opportunity we should grasp.
