SAFI’s Shipbroker & Shipping Agency Department was established in September 1997. Though young, but with motto of "Qualified service, high reputation" in working, we have built up and maintained a good relationship with worldwide owners and customers.

The following are the scope of our business:

1. Agency services:

1.1. General agent for one of the biggest shipping companies in the world - CHINA OCEAN SHIPPING (GROUP) COMPANY - COSCO

China Ocean Shipping Group Company was the first international shipping company of the People's Republic of China. A great number of records and firsts in China's ocean shipping history over the last half of a century have been accredited to COSCO. Her ships sailed numerous shipping routes that no ship of PRC flag had previously sailed and numerous foreign ports that no Chinese vessel had called at before. It is no wonder that COSCO is also known as the place of origin or cradle of China's ocean shipping industry.

Since September 1997, we have had the honor at acting as general agent for all COSCO's vessels calling to Viet Nam. By acting as owner agent, we have partly assisted COSCO in understanding the Viet Nam market, in attending vessel and in solving all problems incurred to vessels during their stays in Viet Nam.

In fact, after several years of acting as general agent for COSCO in Viet Nam, we have gained more and more prestige with our principal.

1.2. Agency services to worldwide owners and charterers:

SAFI acts as agents for liners and tramp vessels. We handle all types and sizes of vessels such as Oil tankers, Container vessels, Dry bulk carriers, General cargo vessels, Passenger ships, etc.

• Port agency services for all types of vessels including tankers;

• Husbandry attendance;

• Arranging salvage of vessels in distress;

• Handling of claims;

• Crew change, hospitalization and repatriation;

• Bunker and provision supply;

• Tallying arrangement.

Having a close relationship & good contact with relevant Port Authorities and with all parties concerned, we can always provide efficient assistance to avoid time wasting and speed up the loading / discharging rate. In case of slight overdraft, it is possible to negotiate for permission to go along side directly without lighterage. And most of all, we can ask for a favorable price in solving all problems.

2. Chartering & Broking:

Thanks to the good relationship with COSCO Group and its subsidiary, we can offer the strong fleet of COSCO vessels to worldwide charterers. With modern fleet of over 550 vessels diversifying from 5,000 dwt to handysize & panamax bulk carriers, we can provide you suitable tonnage for any of your shipments. Especially, COSCO pays much attention to rice shipments to Cuba & the Middle East.

Besides COSCO, we also coordinate with other Asian owners in operating SEA routes, for example from Viet Nam to the Philippines, Malaysia, South Korea, etc. & vice versa.

3. Crew change service:

As agent for GAC HONGKONG who handles the immigration procedures for leaving & joining crew and for transfer to and from ship. Many of the major international airlines are calling at Ho Chi Minh City, which facilitates crews changes in Sai Gon.
